about
One of the oldest tracks in this collection, it was premiered back in 2010 during a "Dribs / Drabs" release party. A direct continuation of "Incomprehensible" from the previous album, this deals with common man's hardships having to bear the burden of Russia's glorious history, patriotic flag-waving and whatnot.
lyrics
Days and weeks pass me by
Winter makes room for spring
Used to think time was on my side
But I’m no longer sure, I’m no longer sure
They told me I must be proud
Living in a glory land
Told me I should kiss a tricolor
But I’m no longer sure I’m no longer sure
I’m no longer sure, I’m no longer sure
History is haunting me, I’m not afraid to die
History is haunting me, but I am feeling blue
History is haunting me, did I come in for that
History is haunting me, it’s getting hard to breath
Year after year goes by
Strengthening the weight of time
Obviously now it won’t be long
Until the hammer falls, ‘til the hammer falls
They told me I have to kneel
Acknowledge the magnitude
Of the nation that fought against the vice
But I’m lo longer sure, I’m no longer sure
I’m no longer sure, I’m no longer sure
History is haunting me, I’m not afraid to die
History is haunting me, but I am feeling blue
History is haunting me, did I come in for that
History is haunting me, it’s getting hard to breath
Calendar must be stopped
We’re all hardly firm enough
To endure the enforcement of our age
It’s bound to collapse, bound to collapse
They told me I have to love
My country, my folk, my past
But what I really love is this little girl
Her ringlets in the wind, ringlets in the wind
Her ringlets in the wind, ringlets in the wind
History is haunting me, I’m not afraid to die
History is haunting me, but I am feeling blue
History is haunting me, did I come in for that
History is haunting me, it’s getting hard to breath
